Tongues were wagging back in 2006 after Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert performed the classic 'You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma' together on CMT's '100 Greatest Duets' countdown special.

The singers' on-stage chemistry was so red hot that many speculated they must be dating! And they indeed were at the beginning of a romance.

Fast forward to Mother's Day 2010, the day Shelton finally popped the question, presenting Lambert with a diamond-and-platinum sparkler. He even revealed an old-fashioned streak by calling her dad to ask for his daughter's hand.

"Weddings are great, and engagements are great, and diamonds are especially great," Lambert tells People, "but I'm just excited to be married because I want to tell Blake I really can love him the rest of my life and be happy and make him happy."

The couple wed on May 14, 2011, at the Don Strange Ranch, and were elated by their nuptials.

“I’m married to my best friend!” Lambert exclaimed following the ceremony. “Looking forward to a lifetime of laughter.”

“I wanted to be married to Miranda the day I proposed,” Shelton added. “Finally, it’s official!”

That first duet together proved quite prophetic, as the couple lived together in Oklahoma until they announced their divorce in July of 2015.
