Country music's royal couple, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, are back in the daily grind after enjoying a uniquely romantic wedding, followed by a few days of downtime in Oklahoma and a whirlwind trip to Reba McEntire's Cancun vacation home. Now, the new groom is revealing details about their Mexican getaway -- including some information a lot of you might prefer he had kept to himself.

"I surprised her and flew her down there with a couple friends of ours for three days of absolute crazy fun," Blake tells E! Online. "We got to experience everything: we got drunk, we ate too much, we got seasick one day, we got sunburned, I did a couple shots of salt water that I didn't mean to because the waves were hitting me too hard. We did everything you're supposed to do in Mexico ... including, I drank the water and had diarrhea."

The newlyweds planned on laying low following their nuptials, thanks in part to Blake's packed schedule juggling recording his new album with his new role on NBC's 'The Voice.' But it was Miranda's willingness to forego an exotic vacation that made the 'Honey Bee' singer change his mind.

"Our plan was just to go home for about three days," notes the 35-year-old tunesmith, adding that the idea of not traveling was his bride's suggestion, so he could get some much needed downtime. "I decided at that moment I was going to surprise her with a trip somewhere ... just knowing she was willing to do that for me."

The reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year admits they find it a challenge to take time for themselves. "It's harder for Miranda and I to pull back," he explains. "Country music is different in that we're very in touch with our fans and there's a closer relationship. Because of that, naturally, because we're both country artists and we did just get married, it would've been close to impossible to keep that under wraps and keep that part of what we do hidden."

Not that he ever wanted to hide their love affair. "People want to know and, you know what, I'm proud. I mean, I can't believe that I got Miranda Lambert," boasts Blake. "Hell yeah, I'm gonna talk about that and I want there to be pictures on magazines so I can prove it to people. That's awesome to me. I don't have any secrets to keep from anybody."

The country star acknowledges they have an unconventional -- but happy -- partnership. "Our relationship is odd," Blake tells The Boot. "But really, really, really tight. We've gotten to the point where we really lean on each other for a lot of things, and it surprises me with how much we're involved with each other's careers -- probably to the point where it makes people that work with us uncomfortable."

They will have to lean on each other from separate locations for awhile. Blake is dividing his time between his Los Angeles residence, where he stays while filming the live episodes of 'The Voice,' with his time on the road serving as opening act for Brad Paisley's H20 II: Wetter & Wilder tour, while Miranda juggles finishing up a new album with several solo dates this summer.
