Blake Shelton had to cut his first post-divorce public appearance short due to weather on Friday night (July 24).

The "Sangria" singer was playing a show at Country Jam USA in Eau Claire, Wisc., when bad weather rolled in — "some serious s--t," he called it, according to one concertgoer — and forced Shelton to end his set early.

"Sorry we got cut short Eau Claire," Shelton writes on Twitter, accompanied by a photo of lightning streaking across the sky behind his stage. "Next time we'll make up for it!!!"

Shelton was also struggling with tech issues throughout his show. A fan, Chelsea Alger, tells People that when video screens above his stage weren't working, Shelton joked, "This isn’t my week.”

All in all, however, concertgoers say that Shelton was in good spirits, but a bit apprehensive.

“I’m nervous tonight, and I tend to drink when I get nervous," Shelton said from stage, according to fan Alexandria Perella.

Shelton was the first to speak out on social media after the announcement of his separation from Miranda Lambert, but on Friday (July 24), the former spouses exchanged tweets. Read the full exchange below.
