Blake and Miranda Talk Life in ‘Redneck Heaven’

While much has been written recently about Blake Shelton's quick wit -- and his willingness to share that with the rest of the world via Twitter -- the Oklahoma native has faced his share of difficult times, including the death of his older brother, his parents' divorce, and his own brief marriage -- not to mention riding the roller coaster of the music business.

In an hour-long profile on GAC, called 'Backstory,' Blake opens up about the many ups and downs he's encountered throughout his life. The special also spotlights his relationship with girlfriend and fellow artist, Texas-born Miranda Lambert, who drifted into his life at a time when he was longing to reconnect with his Oklahoma roots.

"She's a person who can relate to me in a way that very few people in this world can," says Blake. "We're both from the same part of the country. We're both into the outdoors. It should be illegal how much fun we have when we're home. It's absolutely redneck heaven!"

Miranda couldn't agree more, adding, "We love to fish, hunt, drive around back roads listening to music, and sit on the tailgate with the cooler. Literally, what people sing about in songs is what we do in our downtime."
