Billy Ray Cyrus‘ mother, Ruth Ann Casto, is in critical care after being hospitalized over the Easter weekend.

“Please say a prayer for my Mom ‘Ruthie,'” the country singer tweeted on Sunday. “She is in critical care at the hospital this morning. On my way to be with her. God Bless You All.”

Before his mother took ill, the “Hillbilly Heart” crooner was enjoying a laid-back holiday weekend with the rest of his family, and even posted a Twitpic of himself and daughter Miley on a motorcycle trip before they were given the news. “Good Friday. Back in the wind with my buddy again,” Cyrus tweeted with the photo.

However, that carefree moment was a fleeting one after the Cyrus clan got the call that their matriarch was in critical condition. Yesterday, Billy thanked his countless fans for their continued support, but said, “We are not out of the woods yet.”

Here’s to a speedy recovery for Mama Ruthie.
