Billy Dean is set to become the first country star to appear and entertain on China's International Beijing TV. Last month, the singer made the 7,000-mile trip to China to join other international stars performing at the annual Spring Festival Global Gala in Beijing, marking the Chinese New Year.

"Performing on this huge television special was an honor and an amazing experience for me," says Billy. "I had so much fun with those folks. Only downside was the jet lag!"

In recognition of the blue-collar working man Billy, joined by a live orchestra, chose to perform the classic hit, 'Six Days on the Road.'

"China is known for its hard working men and women," says Billy. "I thought 'Six Days on the Road' would be very appropriate."

The year is already shaping up to be a high profile one for Billy. He's set to co-star in the upcoming made-for-TV movie, 'Decision,' with four-time Dove Award-winning singer Natalie Grant. The faith-based film, shot in Kingston Springs, Tenn., just outside Nashville, is scheduled to air this year, according to Country Weekly.

In 'Decision,' Billy plays the role of Natalie's fireman husband, who is killed in a car accident after falling asleep at the wheel, plunging his wife into hard times as she is left to raise their teenage son alone.

Billy is on tour. His next scheduled concert is February 10 in Dallas. For a complete list of dates and venues, check here.
