After a three year wait, Billy Currington has finally released a new album for his fans -- and he has an empty computer box to thank.

The singer confided in his longtime friend, songwriter Shy Carter, that he still needed one more song to finish his latest CD, and Carter provided the final missing piece.

”He was like, ‘How’s your album coming along?’ and I was like, ‘Man, I’ve got nine songs complete that I love but I’m missing one song,’” he recalls to Country Weekly. “He was like, ‘Remember that song 'Hallelujah'? Let’s record that right now.’”

The two saw an empty Apple computer box in the studio, and used that as the inspiration to record the last song for the project.

“We grabbed that box and started setting the beat down, setting the groove with the box, and then went behind it and added some more beats, started singing, just built it from there,” Currington explains.

“By about 4 o’clock in the morning we were done with ‘Hallelujah’ and I was like, ‘Man, that’s it, that’s what I was looking for, right there,'" he continues. "I turned it in with the rest of the project the next week and had a complete album, 10 songs.”

The finished album, 'We Are Tonight,' was released on Sept. 17. Currington will hit the road this fall to support the new album.

He is also slated to appear at Tropical Nights 2014, which takes place from Feb. 23-27, 2014 at the brand-new Tropical Nights Riviera Maya. In addition to Currington, Dierks Bentley, Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer will each headline a separate night of live performance. The exotic country music getaway will also offer fans excursion opportunities with the artists, VIP upgrades, golf, spa packages and more.
