Amy Grantis mourning the loss of her mother, Gloria Grant, who passed away Saturday, April 29, after a brief illness.

"Amy's mom, Gloria Grant, went home to be with the Lord this morning," reads a post on Amy's Facebook page. "Please keep Amy and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Our loss is Heaven's gain."

Amy's step-daughter, songwriter Jenny Gill, commented on the loss as well. "Thanks to everyone for the prayers for our family," she wrote on Facebook. "Amy's sweet momma went peacefully and we are all in good spirits. We feel very blessed."

The Dove-award winning singer was scheduled to perform with her husband, Vince Gill, and James Taylor at Carnegie Hall on April 20, but was forced to cancel the show at the last minute.

"My mom is currently under hospice care and living at our home," she wrote on her website last week. "We believe she is in her final days. A good death is made possible because of a life well lived. I so appreciate this time of family togetherness honoring my amazing mother. Prayers are welcome."

Gloria Grant was 80 years old. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4. The singer's next scheduled performance is June 3 in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. See her complete schedule here.
