Fans of Americana Music in New York City are in luck. The Americana Music Association has partnered with Lincoln Center Out of Doors to launch Americanafest NYC, a series of free concerts with some of Americana music's biggest stars.

Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash, Robert Ellis, Tift Merritt, Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale are among the list of artists who will appear Aug. 6-10, as part of the final week of Out of Doors, a series of free concerts and events that will also conclude the annual Roots of American Music weekend.

In addition to performances, several stars, as well as up-and-coming artists, will participate in symposiums and film screenings, including a screening of 'Heroes of American Roots: From the Historic Films Archives,' which shows rare footage of Bill Monroe, Elvis Presley, the Carter Family and others.
