Dexter Roberts might be one of the most recent cast-offs from 'American Idol,' but he isn't at all discouraged by his elimination from the hit TV show. Instead, the singer reveals he will move to Nashville as soon as the summer 'Idol' tour wraps up.

The 22-year-old, who got a chance to sing before the judges each week, including country music hitmaker Keith Urban, says he doesn't count on Urban giving him a helping hand in Music City.

"It's so fast, they barely have time to talk to us that much," he tells USA Today of the judges, who also include Harry Connick, Jr. and Jennifer Lopez. "He told me to have fun and keep pushing forward."

While Urban may not have given much personal advice to the Alabama native, he says several other artists -- including Carrie Underwood, Brett Eldredge, the members of Little Big Town and the Florida Georgia Line guys -- have all reached out to him. But there's one artist, Craig Morgan, who has taken a personal interest in him, and Roberts says he looks forward to continuing their friendship when he finally makes the move.

"I like Craig," he says. "We're going to do some hunting together some time."

The 22-year-old also hopes to meet one of country music's biggest stars when he gets to town.

"I love Luke Bryan," he tells Entertainment Weekly. "That’s some good stuff. 'Muckalee Creek Water' is my favorite ... He’s just got some great songs but that pick, I sing it all the time in the shower."

Roberts, who sang 'Muckalee Creek Water' and Lady Antebellum's 'Compass' before he was eliminated, isn't disappointed he was removed from the show.

"I told my mom that if I get kicked off sometime, I’m gonna get a teepee and just live in the woods for a few days and get out of the city, ’cause I’m all about the outdoors and stuff," he adds. "But I’m going to keep my singing career and hopefully have a hunting show one day. That’s my dream, my big dream."

Before Roberts can completely get out of urban life, he'll head out on the American Idol 2014 Summer Live Tour, which will kick off on June 24 in Binghamton, N.Y.

"I'm just going to have fun, interact with my fans, just have a blast and enjoy this time with the fellow contestants," he says.
