"I'm a boating nut. If I told you how many boats I've had, you'd think I was crazy," admits country icon and boat enthusiast Alan Jackson. "I must have 20 woodies dating from the 1920s to 1960s. When you're out on the water in a classic old boat, it's as if you've gone back in time."

It's that love of boats that inspired Alan to throw an 'AquaPalooza' concert on Alabama's Lake Martin. The July 25 show is, of course, only accessible by boat.

"It's a fun show where everyone comes by water," Alan explains. "They get there at dawn and they're drinking and partying all day."

Alan promises AquaPalooza will include the big hits he usually plays live, with a few exceptions: "We'll probably replace a few ballads with the livelier stuff, since people on their boats are typically looking to party," he explains.

The AquaPalooza 2009 Signature Event, held in the Kowaliga area of Lake Martin near Alexandria City, Ala., is sponsored by Sea Ray Boats. Last year 2,500 boats turned out for the event, which is all about life on the water, fun in the sun and great music.

Alan will start playing aboard his own boat at 6:00 PM CST on July 25. For more information on the show, go to www.aquapalooza.com.
