Who hasn't dreamed of having Martina McBride sing at their wedding? Well, as we reported yesterday (March 27), Christina Davidson and fiancé Frank Tucci will have that dream come true at their upcoming nuptials, which will take place in front of a live television audience of millions.

"It was an idea that popped in my head out of nowhere after I was invited to sing 'Marry Me' on the ACM Awards. My manager called and told me and I thought, 'Of course, I'd love to sing on the show. Let's do a live wedding on the show!'" Martina tells The Boot of how she decided to turn her performance with Train's Pat Monahan into the Academy of Country Music's first televised wedding. "I didn't say it out loud because I thought it was a really crazy idea, then a couple of days went by and I thought, 'It is a crazy idea, but it's worth just throwing it out there.' [laughs] I think it's so special."

The songbird's participation didn't stop there. "I don't know how the ACM found the couples, but I was emailed a few stories of different couples and this is just the one that spoke to me," she admits. "I was so moved by it. It was obvious we made the perfect choice."

This is the second marriage for both Christina and Frank, who live in New Jersey. In 2009, Christina lost her first husband, Paul, in a tragic drowning accident, leaving her to raise their two sons, Stephen and Paul, on her own. In July of that same year, Frank's wife Danielle succumbed to thyroid cancer, making him a single parent to their son, Frankie.

In order to deal with her loss, the young widow started a support group for families in her same predicament. That's how the two met and found a connection through their sorrow.

"Their story is obviously tragic, but the fact that they've found each other, and the fact that both of their spouses died in the same year, and they both had small children ... it was inspiring," says Martina. "There is always hope that comes out of even the worst, most devastating situations."

While the logistics of the ceremony aren't worked out yet, the 'wedding singer' only has one goal: "It's never been done before, so we're kind of winging it!" Martina admits. "I get in on Friday and my rehearsal is Saturday morning, so we will have a couple of hours to really figure it out. My thing is, I'm really protective of them, and I really want it to feel like a wedding, not a TV show. There is a whole TV show going on, but we all have to remember this is their wedding and I want it to feel really special. I don't want people rushing them on stage and then off. It's all still to be figured out, though.

"It will probably be a little more visual, than hearing them say all of their vows," she continues. "I feel like seeing them talk to each other and exchange the rings -- if they light a unity candle, I'm not sure -- and they're surrounded by their children, I think we'll definitely feel a part of it. I don't think we'll need to hear every single thing that's said."

While the wife-to-be has her wedding dress all picked out, Martina, on the other hand, will have a last-minute fitting to decide what she'll wear down the red carpet and on stage.

"I get a selection of a bunch of dresses, and at the end of the day it's what's the most flattering, what feels the best," she explains of her ACM fashion strategy. "It's like anybody else picking out a dress, you want to feel pretty and you want to look comfortable. I don't care if my next door neighbor designed the dress, as long as it's pretty."

She even looks to her two oldest daughters, Delaney (17) and Emma (14), for their fashion expertise. "I trust their input, because they both have a good fashion sense and they're seeing it from a different viewpoint, so I run most things by them before I leave the house," the proud mom says. "We all have our individual sense of style, but it's kind of similar, too. We raid each others' closets. Delaney will walk out and I'll be like, 'That is my sweater!' [laughs]"

However, when it comes to the day of the show, the singer-songwriter's beauty routine may not be as glamorous as you'd imagine. "I wish I could do an entire spa day," Martina admits. "The way you look is so dependent on the way you take care of yourself. I do try for a couple of weeks ahead of time -- I was really not happy that Spring Break was the week before the ACMs -- I try to clean up my eating a little bit. I am going to get a manicure and pedicure, which I'm very excited about. It's usually me painting my nails on my way out the door of the dressing room, so I'm pretty excited about that."

Tune in to the 47th Annual ACM Awards on Sunday (April 1) to see how the performance, wedding and Martina's wardrobe all turn out. The show airs live from Las Vegas at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
