Huge congratulations are going out to Chris Stapleton, Mike Henderson and Dave Cobb! Their song "Broken Halos" has won Single of the Year at the 2018 CMA Awards, against fellow nominees  MidlandJason Aldean and Miranda Lambert, Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line and Dan + Shay.

Incredibly, this is Stapleton's first CMA Awards win for Single of the Year, although "Broken Halos" already took home Song of the Year and also took home the trophy for Best Country Song at the 2018 Grammy Awards as well.

"Lord have mercy," Stapleton said in his usually understated way as he accepted the award. "First of all, I wanna say there are so many great songs in this category, and they all should have won." In a touching nod, he said that he was "thinking about the people out in California right now" and dedicated the award to them. Cobb, who was onstage next to him, noted how excited he was to be sitting near Lionel Richie.
