Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum and More to Perform at 2017 ACM Awards
Aldean and Lady A shared the news on Twitter on Tuesday morning (March 7); Aldean shared a short video of himself (and his new puppy, Boss) announcing his performance, while Lady Antebellum used a GIF to announce theirs. In a press release, the Academy of Country Music confirms the news, adding that Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maren Morris and Florida Georgia Line with the Backstreet Boys are also among the scheduled performers.
All of these newly announced performers (with the exception of BSB) are nominated at the 2017 ACM Awards: Aldean is up for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, while Lady Antebellum are nominated for Vocal Group of the Year. The country trio helped announce some of this year’s ACM Awards nominees on CBS This Morning in mid-February.
ACM Awards co-hosts Bentley and Bryan, meanwhile are nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year (Bentley) and Entertainer of the Year (Bryan), while Lambert is up for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Video of the Year, Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Little Big Town are competing for Vocal Group of the Year; Morris is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, New Female Vocalist of the Year and Single Record of the Year; and FGL have nods in the Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year, Album of the Year, Vocal Event of the Year and Single Record of the Year categories.
The 2017 ACM Awards are set to take place in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 2, and air live on CBS beginning at 8PM ET. For the first time ever, the show will take place at T-Mobile Arena.
