Luke Bryan Earns All-Genre Nod at 2016 People’s Choice Awards
Luke Bryan has earned a big nomination at the 2016 People's Choice Awards: The country superstar is up for the all-genre Favorite Male Artist award, putting him in direct competition with the likes of Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas.
Bryan has made quite a name for himself this year to earn the nomination. Most recently, the singer landed at the top of the charts once again with his latest single, “Strip It Down.” The song is from his new Kill the Lights album and is his 14th No. 1 song.
In addition to his Favorite Male Artist nod, Bryan is also up for Favorite Male Country Artist, against Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley and Keith Urban. The other two country categories at the People's Choice Awards are Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Country Group; the nominees in those categories are listed below.
Other nominations of note include The Voice's nod for Favorite Competition TV show; country-turned-pop superstar Taylor Swift's numerous noms, including for Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Song; and Steven Tyler's nomination for Favorite Music Icon.
Voting for the 2016 People's Choice Awards is now open online. The show is set to air on CBS on Jan 6 at 9PM ET.
