Awards shows are filled with riveting performances, emotional acceptance speeches and a plethora of beautifully dressed -- and not-so-beautifully dressed -- artists, and the 2014 CMA Awards were no exception.

Here's The Boot's compilation of the best and worst dressed of the evening, ranging from Faith Hill's jaw-dropping, classic look to Ashley Monroe's sparkly shirt -- er -- dress?

BEST DRESSED

Faith Hill

Of all the women on this list, Hill has the most practice on the CMA red carpet -- and it shows. The country star looked regal, elegant and oh-so-classy in her floor-length, shimmery dress. The black bow at the top, along with her classic red lips, made for a picture-perfect outfit. She knows how to make a statement without looking too overdone, and this was, by far, our favorite look of the night.

Carrie Underwood

Everyone was waiting for a look at Carrie Underwood's baby bump -- and here it is! The sheer applique at the top of her dress added a subtly whimsical dimension, and the high-low hem brought flair to the look. But, the best part of all? Underwood's pregnant glow; has she ever looked more beautiful?

Frankie Ballard

Frankie Ballard looked downright handsome on the red carpet. The bowtie, the shine in his shoes and his perfectly coiffed hair combined into one stunning look for the singer-songwriter. Plus, everything fit his trim physique in an effortless way, making for an ultra-suave Ballard at the CMAs.

Cassadee Pope

Cassadee Pope always brings her A-game to the red carpet. Remember her outfit at the 2014 CMT Awards? This time around, the star opted for a more subdued black for her dress, but the different textures and fabrics in the gown offered a truly stylish, feminine and memorable look. The necklace glammed it up to an all-star level, and her pearly whites completed the deal.

Jana Kramer

Jana Kramer looked sultry as ever on the CMA red carpet. The soft floral detailing in her dress and the pale pink color was 100 percent feminine, while the low-cut sweetheart top and her smokey makeup upped the allure factor in a big way.

Dierks Bentley

Thanks to his handsome face and sexy scruff, Dierks Bentley looks good in jeans and a t-shirt .. and, well, pretty much anything. We loved the gray suit and plaid detailing; it was an effortlessly tailored look, and with his gorgeous wife by his side, we give Bentley a perfect 10.

Miranda Lambert

As always, Miranda Lambert brought her best to the red carpet. With her platinum hair in loose retro waves, bright lips and a form-fitting dress, she looked utterly irresistible ... a real winner of the evening, if we do say so ourselves (in more than one way). Pale pink is a huge color this year, and Lambert pulled it off no problem, and it was beautiful against her flawless skin.

WORST DRESSED

Karen Fairchild

Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town is as gorgeous as they come -- raven locks, chocolate brown eyes and beautiful physique -- but we just couldn't get behind her red carpet look. Most of all, we wanted to actually see the dress, which looked exquisite, but it was covered up by the bulky, somewhat tacky-looking fur coverlet. If she removed it, she'd be removed from this list!

Claire Bowen

'Nashville' star Claire Bowen looked as unsure about this dress as we felt. It was really the top half of the dress that did us in: It accentuated her tiny waist well but somehow looked more like a "fair maiden from a far-off land" dress than a CMA red carpet outfit. The skirted aspect of her gown, however, was gorgeous, covered with sequins and with a ballerina flair.

Ashley Monroe

Ashley Monroe made waves on the red carpet, but not in the best ways. Her outfit choice looked less like a dress and more like a ... shirt. In other words, where were her pants? Monroe's hair and makeup were flawless, and she rocked the killer black heels, but we'd like to see the hemline come down just a tad.

Sam Hunt

In our opinion, Sam Hunt would have made the best-dressed list ... if only he hadn't opted to show up sans tux jacket. Even a tie or bow tie would have tied (pun intended) the outfit together just a little more, but instead, he showed up looking like he forgot half his tux, like he decided to throw in the towel halfway through getting ready. That face scruff though? No one does it better.

Jason Aldean

We get that Jason Aldean has a trademark look, and it doesn't include stuffy suits or restricting ties. Yet we wish he had tried a little harder. His jeans ... well, it looks like he got into a fight with his pocketknife right before the red carpet, and Aldean clearly emerged the loser. But, he does get our vote for doing things his own way, even when it doesn't translate well to the red carpet impression.

Nicolle Galyon

We wanted to like this dress on Nicolle Galyon -- partly because the prolific songwriter looks gorgeous in every other aspect. Her blonde locks are flawless. Her jewelry is glamorous. Her clutch is to die for, and her smile is absolutely gleaming. Yet the dress looks more fit for a beach party or Caribbean cruise than a red carpet event -- specifically, the 2014 CMA Awards. It was just a little too casual for the evening, but Galyon herself? Spectacular.
