Wynonna’s Husband Walks for First Time Since Leg Amputation

Despite receiving the lowest overall score of the night from the "Dancing With the Stars" judges on Monday (April 1), Wynonna Judd is keeping it all in perspective.

"After the judges (comments) I came upstairs and everyone hugged me," she said backstage at the show. "I won't remember the score a week from now. I will remember hugging Dorothy Hamill, seeing my husband in the audience who got his leg two days ago, Rick from Def Leppard was blowing me kisses and Tony (Dovolani, her dance partner) looks like a rock star."

While she's enjoying her time dancing, the highlight of Wynonna's week was seeing her husband, Cactus Moser, walk for the first time since a motorcycle accident claimed his left leg last August.

"He went home to get his prosthetic last week," says the proud wife. "He came into town the day before yesterday and he walked towards me for the first time in eight months. He's like eight months ahead of schedule. It's been an emotional ride this week. I was so stunned. I saw the wreck, I saw him lose the leg and to see him walk towards me was amazing. So I look out in the audience and I see all of this love and I felt so grateful tonight. I'll go home with that in mind."

Fellow "Dancing" contestant Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken have felt particularly touched by the couple's story, and continue to be in awe of Cactus' positive outlook on life regardless of the tragic accident that injured him so severely.

"He's an incredible man," says Lisa. "He's just got this attitude. When we went for a walk it was very funny because we got to the doorway and he looked at me and I said, 'I don't care if you've got a new leg, ladies first.' And he said, 'I wouldn't have it any other way.' He's just amazing. Ken and him have really bonded as well."

Cactus' improvements help Wynonna keep everything, including the harsh reviews from the "Dancing" judges, in check.

"We take so much for granted," she says. "He couldn't use his hand and didn't have a leg. That's what life is right there. You think about those 30 seconds the judges get to talk to us about how displeased they are with our dance or whatever, but when you look at it in the grand scheme of things, it's just 30 seconds. It doesn't compare to the rest of our lives and the moments we share with one another."

If Wynonna and Tony do make it past tomorrow's elimination round, the country gal will keep a family motto in mind while rehearsing for her next performance.

"We have a saying in my family, 'Identify and then let it fly.' I identify with words. They want more from me and expect things and I hear them. They're not God. I know what I did was my best tonight and all I can do is show up tomorrow and start all over again."
