In what proved to be one of the most emotional moments of the night, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert took home the 2012 CMA award for Song of the Year for the heart-wrenching and beautiful "Over You," which was written about the 1991 death of Blake's brother when Blake was just 14 years old. Writing the song, Blake explained, was something his dad suggested to him.

"I lost my dad in January," Blake said. "Even after he's gone, he's still right."

Miranda was overcome with emotion but still managed to thank the CMA and others, even as her eyes were filling with tears. Thankfully, Miranda was able to record the song, since it had proven too difficult for Blake to record, knowing there was no way he'd be able to sing it on stage every night.

The win for Song of the Year marked the first time the couple had won together and also the first time either of the pair won a CMA award for songwriting.
