Taylor Swift roars into the history books -- and the top of the Billboard 200 and Country Albums charts -- with some mighty sales figures for her just-released album, Red. Selling more than 1.2 million copies last week in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, the first-week figure is the highest sales number since 2002's The Eminem Show.

Taylor is the only female artist (and the fourth artist ever) to hit the one million figure twice since SoundScan began tracking actual sales in 1991. Her 2010 set, Speak Now, sold 1.04 million in its first week.

Other impressive figures related to Red this week:

-The superstar's third chart-topping album sold more copies than the rest of the albums in the Top 50 combined.

-The collection accounted for 19.3 percent of total albums sold this week, which means that one out of nearly every five CDs or downloads sold this week was Red.

-It's only the 18th album in history to sell a million units in a single week.

-Taylor sets a new worldwide iTunes record for highest first-week album sales, with 565,545 copies sold digitally around the globe. She also tops the first-week U.S. sales record, with more than 464,000 albums sold.

-The album hit No. 1 on the iTunes sales charts in 42 countries and topped national sales charts in the UK, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Malaysia, Ireland, Argentina, New Zealand, Ireland and Australia, among others.

-A six-time Grammy winner, Taylor's total of Billboard Hot 100 hits recently reached 50, the most rapid accumulation of that many hits in the chart's long history. It took the 22-year-old just six years and one month to reach that milestone.

Next up for Taylor is the Red tour, headlining 58 shows in 45 cities, and visiting 29 states and 3 provinces throughout 2013. See the list of tour dates here.

Taylor will perform during the 46th Annual CMA Awards telecast tomorrow night (Nov. 1). She's also nominated for CMA Entertainer of the Year. Tune in live beginning at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
