Kip Moore made his "Today" show debut on the 4th of July. The singer-songwriter chatted with co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford (who claimed to have palpable chemistry with the hunky country singer), before strapping on his guitar for his first No. 1 song, "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck." (Watch Kip's performance below.)

"Small town America is everywhere," the singer-songwriter explains to The Boot of the song's mass appeal. "It's in every part of the country and there are so many teens and college kids that are living that song, and even people that are a lot older than that. There are people going out in fields, fishing, drinking beer and sitting on tailgates. That's just he way so many of us grew up and that's why the song has resonated. It's very relatable for anybody coming from these small towns."

Kip follows his chart-topping "Truck" with a song perfect for summer, "Beer Money," which was recently released to radio. He's also on the road, with his next concert tomorrow (July 6) in Hillsboro, Ohio. Get a full list of Kip's tour dates here.
