It's been a great week so far for Scotty McCreery, who received his high school diploma today (June 7), a mere hours after winning a CMT award!

"I've enjoyed these last 4 years," the singer tweeted, "wouldn't trade any of them for the world."

Scotty and the entire Garner Magnet High School Class of 2012 had their graduation ceremony this morning at the Raleigh (N.C.) Civic Center. Despite his platinum album sales and a burgeoning music career, the "American Idol" winner has wisely chosen to continue his education. He'll attend N.C. State in the fall, which was an easy decision for the North Carolina native.

"At 18 years old, I have a lot of learning to do and I don't know if I'm ready to make the move from home yet," Scotty tells The Boot. "Give me a couple more years and I'll be more mature and I'll know more about the business. Maybe then I'll make the move to Nashville. I think for right now, the best spot for me is home."

Last night, Scotty took home the CMT belt buckle trophy for USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year, for "The Trouble With Girls." Watch the award-winning video below, followed by Scotty performing live in our studios.

Congratulations, Scotty!
