The King of country music is celebrating the birth of a little prince. George Strait is a first-time grandfather, after his son Bubba and daughter-in-law Tamara welcomed a son last week.

George broke the news during his concert in Phoenix on Friday (Feb. 3). "I just found out yesterday, my son had a new baby," the country icon told the audience just after singing his poignant hit, 'I Saw God Today.'

There's no word yet on the name of the baby boy. Bubba's real name is George Strait, Jr., so the tot could very well be George III.

A celebrated songwriter, Bubba co-wrote more than half of the tracks on his dad's 'Here for a Good Time' album, along with George and Dean Dillon. The same three are also responsible for the 2009 hit, 'Living for the Night.'

George is currently on the road with Martina McBride. Click here to see cities and dates on their tour.
