Craig Morgan had never even met 'Rizzoli and Isles' actress Angie Harmon before filming his new 'This Ole Boy' video with her on a recent gorgeous day at a farm just outside Nashville, but you never would have known it by watching them together. Introduced by a mutual friend, the two struck up quite a friendship of their own during the making of the new video, and were surprised at how quickly they bonded on set and how much they had in common. Angie plays Craig's love interest in the hilarious new clip, but he had to contend with some serious competition for her affections in the video. (Watch it below.)

"We were introduced by a very dear friend of mine, Garnet, who had told me all about her," Craig told The Boot on the set of the video. "I had known about her as an actress, of course, but he was going on about her as a person, and I said, 'Man, if I ever get a chance to use her in a video, would you talk to her?' And so when the video came about, we weaseled our way into getting her here!"

The plotline for the funny video has Craig being chased all over the place by Angie's jealous and overprotective dog, who keeps coming between the two as they try to grab some romantic moments together.

"The concept is she's my love interest," Craig explains. "But there's this little fella, a dog, that absolutely refuses to allow our relationship to blossom. He's always in the way. Obviously, in the end I win -- a dog is a man's best friend, and in this case he's my very best friend, my drunken best friend! [laughs]"

The clip is the first music video ever done by Angie, an actress best known for her work on 'Law and Order' and in numerous films and TV shows. She says she enjoyed the time spent in front of the camera in a different capacity, even if it was spent working with a less-than-cooperative canine co-star.

"This is my first video, and I wasn't rolling around on a car or spraying myself with a hose ... I didn't have any of that! [laughs] It was very fun, classy and beautiful! There was this fantastic moment during shooting, though, when I'm looking into the camera and we have the blanket and the whole thing ready, and it's so cute and they say, 'OK, and ... cue the dog!' And the dog just took off like a shot and didn't even look at me! This dog is supposed to be adoring, just loves me, is cuddling with me on the blanket, and first thing it just ran right past me and kept going! It took them 20 minutes to find the dog. There was something in those trees, and that dog was going for it!"

The filming provided plenty of comical bonding moments for Craig and Angie, who had actually formed a mutual admiration society before they even met, since Angie is a country fan who listens to Craig's music, and he has enjoyed her TV shows for years. Craig says though he's always been an admirer before the 'This Ole Boy' video shoot, he was actually even more impressed with the statuesque brunette beauty once he met her in person.

"I feel like I've known her forever! You know how you have these impressions of people? I've read about her being a loving, family woman with beautiful children, so we share that same interest. But when she got on set, everything that you've read about her is exactly how she is ... she was immediately showing pictures of her kids, and I just think that's awesome! There's nothing fictitious or fake about her, and she's even prettier in person than she is on TV. And that made it really easy, because you've seen some of the guys I work with! [laughs] Her personality is so great ... there's not one person who she hasn't been really polite and wonderful to. It's just been amazing working with her."

The two had so much fun they may do it again soon, possibly with Craig making an appearance on 'Rizzoli and Isles' sometime in the future. He also recently filmed an appearance on 'Army Wives' that reportedly may turn into a recurring role in the future. His new album, 'This Ole Boy,' hits stores February 28.
