Waylon Jennings has been gone for nearly a decade, but country's quintessential outlaw is not forgotten. Yesterday (Feb. 7) saw the release of 'Waylon: The Music Inside, Volume II,' the second installment in a planned trilogy of tribute albums. The collection finds Dierks Bentley, Hank Williams, Jr., Jewel and a host of other artists covering the wily Texan's tunes.

"I don't know why certain people can just see what's needed and do it," Waylon's widow, Jessi Colter, said in a press release, assessing her late husband's legacy. "Those people are the starters, the leaders, the movers-and-shakers. He was a leader."

Next week, Jessi will promote the record by appearing on the GAC programs 'On the Streets' (Feb. 14) and 'Headline Country' (Feb. 16). On March 5, duo Montgomery Gentry will do likewise on 'The Daily Buzz.'

"The thing about [Waylon], or me ... we're not going to put ourselves in a pigeonhole," says Hank Jr. "We're not going to say, we're country. We're not going to do that. We play music."
