Carrie Underwood has spent the last year and a half in wedded bliss with professional hockey player Mike Fisher. But while the couple hope to start a family someday, the multi-platinum-selling singer says that won't happen anytime soon.

"I'm still a newlywed," she explains to South Dakota radio station KIKN. "Next year being so busy, and I think 2013 is probably gonna end up being pretty busy as well, and my husband's hockey schedule is absolutely insane. I really think it would be a bad idea. 'Sorry, honey, you're not gonna see the kids for a couple months because we're all going on tour.' I just don't think that would be really fair, and we're not ready. We're enjoying spending time with each other and just having fun and being silly."

Offspring may still be a few years off, but when they are ready, Carrie knows exactly who to turn to for advice. "I know it's possible to be a great mother and to be on the road," she shares. "I see people like Martina [McBride] do it, and Faith [Hill] do it. I know it's a possibility. I just maybe need to sit down with them and say, 'How DO you do it?'"

The 'American Idol' alum is focused on releasing a new album in 2012, and hopefully hitting the road later this year to support the upcoming CD. The five-time Grammy winner will find out next month if she will add another trophy to her collection, this time for Best Country Solo Performance for her hit single, 'Mama's Song.'

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from Los Angeles' Staples Center, Feb. 12 at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
