In addition to being one of the top-selling artists of 2011, Taylor Swift has, in recent years, dabbled in acting, appearing in both an episode of 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' and in the hit movie, 'Valentine's Day.' Now, if the rumors are true, the 22-year-old will next appear in the film adaptation of the Broadway classic, 'Les Miserables.'

Broadwayworld.com claims to have confirmed that Taylor will star in the movie as Eponine, as part of an all-star cast that also reportedly includes Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway.

Filming is set to begin in March, which is the same month Taylor will wrap up her globe-trotting Speak Now world tour. While this new role may be a surprise to her fans, the 'Sparks Fly' singer hinted earlier that she would soon be revealing another side of her creativity.

"[I'm working on] some surprise projects that may or may not happen, and possibly some acting," she divulged to MTV last fall. "I've just been so excited about what's gonna happen in the next year."

There's no word yet from Taylor's camp on whether or not her inclusion in the movie is indeed confirmed. If true, the songbird will have triumphed over Scarlett Johansson, Evan Rachel Wood and Lea Michele, who all reportedly auditioned for the role of Eponine. 'Les Miserables' is scheduled for a December 2012 release.

Taylor will head to Australia March 2, where she will perform several shows, followed by a trek to New Zealand. See the rest of her concert schedule here. The country superstar is currently part of the musical side of another highly-anticipated film. Her duet of 'Safe and Sound' with the Civil Wars is heard on the soundtrack of 'The Hunger Games,' due in theaters March 23.
