When Lauren Alaina needs career counsel, who better to ask than fellow 'American Idol' alum Carrie Underwood? Despite the hectic schedule surrounding the release of her debut album, 'Wildflower,' Lauren found time to soak in some wise words from her own musical idol.

"How do you deal with being away from your family for so long and just being gone all the time?" Lauren asked Carrie, the Associated Press reports. "You have to think about all the positive stuff that's going on, because you have so much going for you right now. Your family will always be there," Carrie advised.

Indeed, Lauren does have blue skies on her horizon. The Georgia native's debut album was released last week, debuting at No. 2 this week with almost 70,000 copies sold. Her new single, 'Georgia Peaches' will be released to radio next week, following the Top 40 success of her debut track, 'Like My Mother Does.'

Lauren has also signed on for 'Opry Goes Pink', joining Kellie Pickler, Martina McBride, Ronnie Milsap and host Robin Roberts for the breast cancer awareness month charity event at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday (Oct. 22).
