Sherrié Austin, a singer and actress whose most recent single was released seven years ago, and who first appeared on TV screens more than a decade ago, will return next month with her latest recording project, the self-written, self-produced and self-financed 'Circus Girl.' The album will be issued on the Australian-born singer-songwriter's own Circus Girl Records and is due for release November 15.

Just days after the release of the new album, Sherrié will also return to television, the medium through which many fans first became familiar with her. A cast member of the popular NBC series 'The Facts of Life' from 1987-88, on which she played Pippa McKenna, Sherrié will next appear on the Sundance Channel's documentary series 'Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys.' Now in its second season, the show celebrates and explores the relationships between straight women and their gay best friend. The episode featuring the diminutive singer will spotlight her close friend and collaborator Shane Stevens, writer of Lady Antebellum's chart-topping 'American Honey.'

"This series definitely pushes some boundaries," says the singer. "We just might loosen up the buckle of the Bible belt before we're done."

Although Sherrié hasn't released a new album since 2003's 'Streets of Heaven,' which spawned the poignant Top 20 title track, she has been penning tracks for the likes of George Strait, Tim McGraw and most recently Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins, who recorded the comical duet 'If I Was a Woman.' Newcomer Karli Whetstone recorded another of Sherrié's more humorous tunes, 'I Didn't,' earlier this year.

The episode of 'Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys' featuring Sherrié and Shane premieres Nov. 18 on the Sundance Channel. 'Circus Girl' will be available everywhere Nov. 15. Visit Sherrié's website for more information.
