"When you're in front of a live audience, they're the second character in the show. They're telling you what the want," says Broadway stage veteran turned country singer Kristin Chenoweth. "That's one of the great lessons of a live performers. They have to be a listener."

The theater, film and television star dishes exclusively with The Boot on how she utilizes her stage experience in the music world. "When you go into the recording studio, it's intimate in a different way," shares the Tony Award-winner. "One of the challenges, which is also so much fun for me, is to go into the studio and make it like you're in the auditorium or concert hall and you're listening and relating to the song for the first time."
