Reba + Blake Shelton Raise $500,000 for Tornado Victims

During their two sold-out shows, Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton raised $500,000 for Oklahoma tornado victims in Atoka County. The concerts took place at the Choctaw Events Center in Durant, Okla. May 25 and 26. Kelly Clarkson and Susie McEntire-Eaton even made guest appearances on the second night.

The Okies opened each show with a duet of 'Oklahoma Swing,' followed by a night of jabs and hits, the humorous and musical kind, of course. The red-headed songstress entertained with tunes such as 'The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,' 'Turn on the Radio' and 'Consider Me Gone.' 'The Voice' judge's set included 'All About Tonight,' 'Goodbye Time' and 'Some Beach.'

The pair harmonized and made jokes at the others expense throughout the night, and even performed their current singles: Reba's 'When Love Gets a Hold of You,' and Blake's 'Honey Bee.' Blake took the stage alone for the first time when he sang his encore of 'Ol' Red,' followed by Reba's solo performance of 'Fancy.'

"We wanted to do something and let the people in Oklahoma know that we love them and we're praying for them during this difficult tragedy," Reba told the Oklahoman newspaper when the concert dates were announced. "A lot of people lost a great deal in this disaster and it's particularly close to us because we both consider Oklahoma home."

"Oklahoma defines who I am and seeing the effects this disaster has had on my neighbors, I knew I had to do something," says Blake. "Reba and I have a lot of love for this state and we wanted to do what we can to help. This place is my home and these people are family to us."

The benefit was initially meant to be a stand-alone concert, until it sold out in less than two hours, prompting the second show. The area, which was affected by recent storms, is near and dear to the vocalists. Reba was born outside Kiowa, which is 30 miles away from the devastation, while Blake resides in Tishomingo, which is less than 50 miles to the Atoka County border. The proceeds from both shows, as well as donations from the Choctaw Nation and fans, will go to the Tushka Disaster Relief Fund.
