Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland and sibling trio the Band Perry are taking part in tonight's 'Girls Night Out: The Superstar Women of Country - The Concert of the Year,' and for both acts it is a celebration of the women who helped to pave the way for them.

"It is so wonderful any time that we can honor women in music and the contributions that they make and they have made," Jennifer Nettles tells The Boot. "To be able to be a part of this is pretty special to me. To be able to celebrate these women who I admire and respect so deeply for what they do and what they bring to the genre, it is really, really special."

Jennifer is being recognized during the show for her songwriting contributions. She made history with 'Stay,' which earned Song of the Year in 2008, marking only the second time a female artist solely wrote and performed a Song of the Year winner. Ronnie Dunn pays tribute to her by giving a hair-raising performance of the award-winning tune.

The Band Perry perform the Patsy Cline hit, 'Walkin' After Midnight,' which they say is one of their favorite songs. "We were definitely honored whenever they asked us to perform that because it's for the legends, the lady legends of country music," Neil Perry tells The Boot. "When they asked us to play one of our favorite songs, we said, 'Just tell us when and where.'"

"We're huge students and fans of the history of country music, and that's what we love about it is the great tradition it has," notes Reid Perry.

"What I love is I feel like these ladies who we're honoring just make up everything about country music," Kimberly Perry continues, "Everything from their sense of fashion to their spitfire attitudes and everything in between."

Jennifer and the Band Perry join Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, the Judds, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton and many others for the Academy of Country Music's 'Girls' Night Out: Superstar Women of Country - The Concert of the Year,' which airs tonight (April 22) at 9:00 PM ET on CBS.
