Taylor Swift fans, flex your fingers and get ready to hit the computer keyboard running, because the country superstar has just announced 16 new dates on her Speak Now World tour 2011. The bad news: the specific dates haven't been announced yet. But they will be made available in the next few weeks.

We're told that fan demand prompted Taylor to expand the trek so that she will now headline 78 shows in 63 different cities in the U.S. and Canada. We believe it, too, because tickets for Taylor's previously-announced shows shows in Detroit, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Foxboro, Mass., and the four-night run in Newark sold out ultra fast -- think mere minutes.

With Taylor nominated for four Academy of Country Music awards -- including the fan-voted Entertainer of the Year award -- you can bet the Taylor fan fever is still blazing. Critical acclaim for her European concerts, during which Taylor plays a variety of instruments including various electric and acoustic guitars, piano and even ukulele, has also fueled the excitement.

Although we don't know the new concert dates, we can tell you that Adam Brand will open for Taylor on September 24 and during her November concerts, and David Nail will open an added October show. Other opening acts on the North American leg of the trek include Frankie Ballard, Danny Gokey, Hunter Hayes, Josh Kelley, Randy Montana and James Wesley. Check out their dates with Taylor here.

Taylor is currently in the final week of the European leg of her Speak Now tour. She wraps up her international travels with shows in the United Kingdom and Ireland this week, and then enjoys almost two months off before the United States leg of the trek kicks off on May 27 in Omaha, Nebraska.
