Billy Ray Cyrus is apparently living through the old adage "bad things happen in threes." First, he and his wife Tish Cyrus announced in October that they are divorcing after 17 years of marriage. That led to Billy Ray gathering some bad press the next month after he stormed out of a radio interview when asked about the end of the marriage. And let's not even get into all the controversy that surrounded daughter Miley Cyrus late last year, when she was caught on tape smoking a bong.

Now, Billy Ray's former road manager Paul A. Abraham is suing Billy Ray and Tish for firing him May 1 for what he claims was only due to his age, according to Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. The 61-year-old who also managed Billy Ray's Tennessee farm, claims Billy Ray called him "old and dumb and don't know anything about running a farm."

Paul is asking for $500,000 for "pain, humiliation, embarrassment and emotional distress."

Of course, last year wasn't all bad for Billy Ray. Highlights included hosting a documentary series showing those in the military reuniting with loves and and joining son Trace Cyrus in talks talks to star in a reality show.

"First meeting went well! On to the next meeting with another TV station," Trace tweeted last May. "This reality show with my dad and I is going to blow peoples minds."

Here's hoping that's in a good way!
