Taylor Swift, the Band Perry Lead 2011 American Music Awards’ Country Nominees

Taylor Swift and the Band Perry have scored three American Music Award nominations, the most of any country artists this year. In addition to nods for Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Country Album (for 'Speak Now'), Taylor is up for the biggest prize of the night: Artist of the Year, competing against Adele, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne and Katy Perry. The Perry siblings join Taylor in the Favorite Country Album category (for their self-titled debut), along with nods for Favorite Country Band, Duo or Group and New Country Artist of the Year.

Double nominee Jason Aldean is also up for Favorite Country Album, along with Favorite Male Country Artist, alongside Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton. Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band scored Favorite Country Band, Duo or Group nods with the Band Perry. And Taylor's fellow nominees in the Favorite Female Country Artist category are Miranda Lambert and Sara Evans. Thompson Square are first-time AMA nominees in the New Country Artist category.
