'The House That Built Me' was named CMA Song of the Year, which seemed a good omen for Miranda Lambert to win a few of her own awards later in the evening.

The Song of the Year award is given to the songwriters, and after Miranda, decked out in a silver skirt and black bustier, led writers Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin to the stage, she offered, "I just want to say thank you for writing such a beautiful song, and thank [producer] Scott Hendricks for finding it."

"I've never felt less cool than I do right now, but anyway thank you," said a grinning Tom Douglas. "I'm wearing my beloved father's tuxedo, and I do humbly accept this award. There are so many great songs in the category, I would just love to just celebrate the other great songs. Allen and I are so honored to be up here with you."

Allen added, "Tom and I would both like to thank Gary Overton, Blake Shelton, Scott Hendricks ... Blake could have had the song, and Blake and Scott, they so generously let it go to Miranda."

"The House That Built Me" became Miranda's first No. 1 single in June.
