Billy Ray Cyrus and Son Trace ‘Freakin” Out in New TV Series

Billy Ray Cyrus's run as a TV star opposite his daughter, Miley Cyrus, may have ended when 'Hannah Montana' went off the air earlier this year, but that doesn't mean his days sharing time on the small screen with his children are history. The singer and actor will next appear with his son Trace in a new TV series, 'UFO: Unbelievably Freakin' Obvious' on cable's Syfy network.

The reality show, which has father and son traveling across the country to investigate conspiracy theories, is a perfect fit for the duo, Billy Ray says. "The existence of paranormal phenomena is something I've always wanted to explore further," Billy Ray tells Variety magazine. "Getting the opportunity to take this adventure with my son, who has always had a keen interest in this area, is a dream come true. I hope this series can shine a light on some of the activities we have questioned, and the mysteries that have long inspired us."

In addition to filming the new reality series, Billy Ray is also devoted to his new band, Brother Clyde. Releasing their self-titled debut album last month, the multi-platinum selling singer says he heeded the advice from one of his musical heroes in determining the group's creative direction. "Johnny Cash once told me, 'You have to make the music that comes from within," he tells The Boot. Don't worry about labels and stereotypes and branding.'"

In his limited free time, Billy Ray is also continuing his career as a solo artist, working a a new CD of patriotic tunes. Brother Clyde's first single, 'Lately,' featuring hip-hop mogul King Phaze, is climbing the charts.
