Jaron and the Long Road to LoveJaron and the Long Road to Love is inching toward the Top 15 on the country singles chart with his debut single as a solo artist, 'Pray for You.' While most fans support the controversial tune, the singer says he knows not everyone is on board with it, and that's fine with him.

"Originally, I think it was 90% loved the song and 10 percent hated it, but now I think it's about two percent who hate it," Jaron tells The Boot. "I think the people who don't like it just don't get it. I think they're afraid it's going to incite anger. The reality is that everybody who hears it laughs. It's funny! It makes people smile. I like going on iTunes and seeing five stars, five stars, five stars, one star, five stars, five stars, five stars ... it keeps it interesting. It makes the people who like you really love you. It's a great opening song."

Jaron will release his 'Getting Dressed in the Dark' album June 22, which has him excited for feedback from fans on his very personal song selection. "I write all my songs," he explains. "All of my songs are from a real experience that happened to me. I don't really co-write that often. Seven of the songs on the album I wrote by myself, and three of them I co-wrote."

One of those three songs he co-wrote happens to be 'Pray for You' which he penned with songwriter Joel Brentlinger. "I was in a relationship, and I got cheated on," Jaron says of the song's inspiration. "I was upset, and that song came out. I started writing it. Joel came over to my house and asked me to write for a while. He just said, 'I'm not leaving until you let me finish writing this song with you. I've got an ex-wife ... let me chime in!' So I said let's do it, and we laughed our asses off and finished it. It was great."

'Getting Dressed in the Dark' is now available for pre-order on iTunes.
