Joey + RoryThis year is shaping up to be one of the best yet for husband and wife duo Joey+Rory. Earlier this month, the duo took home the fan-voted ACM Award for Top New Vocal Duo. They also just recently joined the Zac Brown Band on their Breaking Southern Ground tour. To top things off, last week Rory Feek received his fourth No. 1 country single as a songwriter when Easton Corbin took a song he co-wrote, 'A Little More Country Than That,' to the top of the charts.

Rory is hoping that spending time out on the road with Zac and songwriting buddy Wyatt Durrette (co-writer of ZBB's 'Chicken Fried,' 'Whatever It Is,' 'Toes,' 'Highway 20 Ride') will result in some more songwriting magic. "We all have become real good friends," Rory tells The Boot. "I love all of them. Wyatt's a sweetheart, and I'm just so thrilled for all the success he's having. It's been fun for us [to write together]."

While on the road with Zac and company, Joey+Rory pull double duty, as in addition to performing they also emcee the three-hour show. "We've never been on a big tour like this before," Rory notes. "Zac does things really differently. It's an unusual style of a show, and we feel really fortunate to be a part of it. It's been awesome. We're having a great time. Their band has just been spectacular. They are really great people. The tour, the fans and everybody out there are just so excited every night."

Joey+Rory have been singing a few acoustic songs for the audience, which has been quite a rush in recent weeks when it comes time to sing 'A Little More Country Than That.' "Joey will always mention that I wrote 'Some Beach' [Blake Shelton] and some of those other songs," Rory says. "Then she'll start saying, 'And he's got a song on the radio right now ...' So we would play 'A Little More Country Than That,' and what a response that song gets! Everybody's convinced it's a George Strait cut, and I don't tell them any different! He does sound a lot like George Strait, and that's not a bad thing! He's done a great job on it. It's a thrill to be part of it. I talked to Easton on the phone the other day and congratulated him. He was the nicest guy. We're rooting for him and are thrilled to death for his success."
