Laughter was aplenty at Wednesday's CMA Awards, thanks to the humorous banter of co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. Backstage, Brad praised writer David Wild, who helped him craft some of the show's clever moments (although Brad's always had a dry wit and a gift for natural comedic timing).

Still, when it came to upstaging the hosts -- and commandeering the stage in a knowing nod to the infamous Kanye West MTV VMA incident, the job rested on the sequined shoulders of Grand Ole Opry legend Little Jimmy Dickens ... And the 88-year-old didn't miss a beat!

As Carrie was praising Brad's video for 'Welcome to the Future,' Little Jimmy interrupted, delivering the Kanye-esque line, "I'll let you finish later," followed by his enthusiastic assertion that although Brad has done some fine videos (many of which Jimmy has appeared in), Taylor Swift's 'Love Story' (CMA winner for Music Video of the Year) was "the best video in the world!"

The teenaged Taylor clearly enjoyed the moment, laughing in amazement as the routine unfolded. Jimmy then saved the best line for last, shouting, "You go, girl" to Taylor before he left the stage.

But Brad had the last laugh, quipping, "What kind of security do we have that a 4 ft., 9 inch, 88-year-old man gets by it?"
