Taylor Swift is the force to contend with at the upcoming American Music Awards. Receiving six nominations, the country superstar has received more AMA nods than any artist of any genre this year.

Taylor, who won her first AMA last year for Favorite Female Country Artist, faces off against the late Michael Jackson and Lady GaGa for both Favorite Album and Artist of the Year, where she is also competing against Eminem and Kings of Leon. In addition, Taylor is vying for Favorite Album, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, Favorite Country Album and Favorite Female Country Artist.

Country artists also make a strong appearance in the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist of the Year category. The Zac Brown Band and Gloriana are nominated in that category, along with Lady GaGa, Kings of Leon, Keri Hilson, Jermiah, Drake and Kid Cudi. For the first time in the show's 37-year history, fans will be able to select the final four nominees in the category by voting at ABC.com.

Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Lopez and Adam Lambert have already been announced as performers for the Nov. 22 ceremony, which will air live on ABC. See a full list of nominees here.
