About 13 years ago, Jimmy Wayne got his hands on a greatest hits collection by Daryl Hall and John Oates. One of the songs on the CD was 'Sara Smile,' the first Top 10 record for the duo in 1976 (when Jimmy was just four years old).

Flash-forward to Jimmy's audition for then-Dreamworks executive Scott Borchetta, during which he sang the tune -- and landed a record deal. It's a song Jimmy often performs in concert but has never recorded. Well, now he has not only recorded the tune, GAC reports he's joined on the soulful ballad by Hall and Oates themselves!

"'Sara Smile' has been my shield and my sword," says Jimmy. "I picked [the CD] out of a bargain box that sat outside the department store in the old Gaston Mall in Gastonia, North Carolina. I listened to the CD on my way home and I heard 'Sara Smile' for the first time. I began singing this song long before I knew how to play it on guitar and I just felt like it was as if the song was written for me. "

And although this will be the first official release of Jimmy's rendition, he performed it live last year at a radio station in Albuquerque, New Mexico. "I can't wait for the world to finally hear my version of 'Sara Smile.' And it makes it extra special that John and Daryl agreed to be part of this version!"

The single will be released in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Jimmy continues to cross the country with Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley on the American Saturday Night tour.
