It didn't take much for Darius Rucker to convince Dierks Bentley to perform with him at the upcoming Homegrown Concert in his hometown of Charleston, S.C.

"He's one of my best friends in country music and one of the nicest people in the world ... We text all the time," Darius told Charleston's WEZL radio of buddy Dierks. "I asked him about this concert and he said, without hesitation, yes. We even changed the date on him and he said he didn't care. He's just the best."

The morning show guys at WEZL poked fun at Darius for gushing so much about his Capitol Records labelmate. And it turns out, they're not the only ones laughing at the singers' friendship.

"It's funny -- my wife and his wife were together in Nashville last week," Darius recalls with a laugh. "And his wife came up to my wife and said, 'I'm a little tired of this bromance that my husband is having with your husband."

The Homegrown concert takes place August 13 in Charleston. All proceeds go to help disadvantaged schools in South Carolina. The show will be a detour for Darius from the Rascal Flatts tour, which he's on all summer. So does he have a fancy new set of wheels yet? Because the Flatts are rumored to give their opening act a Porsche as a tour gift.

"No! I didn't even bring it up, but they were telling stories -- so I know it's actually true. And you know how nice I got at that point," Darius recalls. "They said, 'Yeah, we bought Taylor [Swift] a Porsche.' And I was like, 'How y'all doing? Can I get you a beer?"
