Wynonna Puts ‘Joy and Sorrow’ on New CD

Wynonna, fresh off the release of her latest album, 'Sing - Chapter 1,' captivated audiences with a live performance on 'Good Morning America' Wednesday. The album -- a collection of classics that span country, jazz, blues and classic rock -- is somewhat of a storybook through Wynonna's professional and personal journey.

"My heart is heavy some days," the music icon admitted to ABC's Robin Roberts. "This album is about joy and sorrow."

Wynonna says 'Sing' was both a labor of love and a tribute to her own music icons.

"25 years into this, and I'm just now getting this, that we're supposed to pay homage to the ones that came before us," she says.

The CD includes hits made popular by artists such as Tammy Wynette, Burt Bacharach, Nat King Cole and Bonnie Raitt, among others. And while the album may have been a career risk, her satisfaction is no longer found in album sales. "My joy comes from a different place than the music business," says the mom of two.

After a bitter and public divorce, coupled with a constant weight battle that she's now tackling head on, Wynonna is now content with the course her life has taken. But she is the first to concede she hasn't figured out all the answers yet. "I'm a work in progress," she says. "I think I'm real life."
