Call her crazy, but Lee Ann Womack listens to her heart over her head. That's why the followup to her 2005 CMA-winning album, 'There's More Where That Came From,' has been a little longer in the making.

Womack is set to release her new album, 'Call Me Crazy,' on October 21, but it's different from the CD she recorded two years ago ... and ended up shelving. Womack explains that she wasn't happy with the project she completed in 2006 and needed to take a step back.

"I felt like I went in and started making a record simply because it was time to make another record," Womack explained to the Lexington Herald-Leader. "I think I was making that record more in my head than my heart. And I always have more luck and success when I follow my heart instead."

The original project did yield one single, 'Finding My Way Home,' which was supposed to be the CD's title track. But the full album never came out. Instead, Womack took some much-needed downtime to create the project she wanted to make.

"I've taken some time off the road to write more and just to live more," she says. "When you're on the road and totally immersed with your career, you're not really living a normal life. It's when I'm living a normal life that I come up with the best material for people to relate to."

The first of that material is Womack's current single, 'Last Call,' which is steadily climbing the charts. Watch the video here.
