Charlie Daniels and some of his country music friends are doing their part to make sure kids experience a happy holiday season.

Montgomery Gentry, Jake Owen, and Sawyer Brown will join Charlie at the 2010 Charlie Daniels Band & Friends Concert to benefit Christmas 4 Kids on November 22 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Proceeds from the concert and other Christmas 4 Kids events will provide more than 400 children from 29 different schools a very special holiday shopping spree.

It's especially poignant that Charlie is again hosting the concert this year -- as well as keeping a full tour schedule -- because of the mild stroke he had in January. Charlie says he wouldn't miss it.

"Christmas 4 Kids holds a special place in my heart," Charlie tells The Boot. "In this land of plenty, no child should be sad at Christmas time. Christmas 4 Kids does its part to keep that from happening."

Children chosen for the program enjoy a chauffeured trip from their schools aboard an entertainer's luxury tour bus, lunch, a party hosted by Santa and Mrs. Claus and, finally, a trip to the Walmart in Hendersonville, Tenn., where each child receives $150 to spend on anything he or she wants. Each child also receives a brand new Tennessee Titan's starter jacket.

Charlie is currently on tour with his next concerts slated for August 27 in Las Vegas and August 28 in San Diego. For a complete list of cities and dates, check here.
